Hindu tolerance
Hindus are by and large tolerant people. This has been established over centuries and accepted by all. Though this fact has been challenged over ages but the resilience of Hinduism has allowed it to come over all the hardships. Recently there has been uproar regarding Hindu militancy in India. The pseudo secularists have not left any stone unturned in bashing so claimed growing Hindu intolerance. Well it is clear that these propagandas are part of vote bank politics I feel deeply offended by these happenings. There is a limit to everything. Are we supposed to remain mute spectators when are deities are defamed, idols and images tarnished and labeled on beer bottles and toilet seats. Much hullabaloo has been over Hindus response over Hussein’s painting. Hindu goddess was painted nude, projected as work of art and citing techno legal jargon we were told difference between erotica and art. This of course is not the first instance of sacrilege but as always Hindus were expected to remain shut rather appreciate. A pinch of vocal protest has left secularist fuming with vengeance. None of us can forget the Muslim response over Danish cartoons and the extremity to which it went. World must respect Hindus for their innate tolerance. There are however deeper issues and far more complex factors to be considered which I m not capable enough to handle.

  • Agreed.

Though I would like to add more points - like present stand/attitude of foreign (read US) returned Indians towards nationalism and globalization, rise of IT power as slavery to western projects etc has deeper issues.
